Winter Skills & Summits - Derry Cairngorm - Linn of Dee

Join us on a winter journey into the heart of the central Cairngorms. If you’ve always fancied bagging a winter Munro or are looking for a refresher or to develop your winter skills further, then this is the event for you!

Plan A will be to head to the summit of Derry Cairngorm (1155m) via Derry Lodge, brushing up on skills along the way. This Munro is one of the best viewpoints in the Cairngorms, with an expansive panorama onto Ben Macdui, Cairn Toul and beyond.

As much as we’d always love to deliver our primary objective, there’s no such thing as a guaranteed winter summit. The snow and weather conditions will ultimately decide where we go and what we do, but rest assured that your experienced guide will provide a plan that works best on the day.

This event is aimed at people with some experience using crampons and ice axes; it would be perfect if you’ve done a Winter Skills Weekend or a Winter Skills Taster Day with us before. A good level of fitness is required.

Group size - Limited to 6 participants.

The use of crampons, ice axes and helmets are included in the price.
