Union Terrace Gardens

About Union Terrace Gardens

Union Terrace Gardens is a relaxing open green space in the heart of Aberdeen, located just off Union Street. The gardens feature vibrant foliage, modern landscaping, and a variety of cafés and eateries.Following a £28.3 million refurbishment, the gardens now offer improved wheelchair access, a new children’s play area, updated toilets, and extensive seating. Historic features have been carefully restored, including the Victorian arches and toilets, alongside specially commissioned artworks and the reinstated planted city crest. A new water feature has been added, the statues of William Wallace, Rabbie Burns, and Edward VII have been cleaned, and the grand staircase leading to the lower gardens has been restored.
