SugarBird in the Gardens

Aberdeen’s most elaborate granite sculpture, designed by Alfred Drury RA and carved by James Philip, stands on a polished red Peterhead granite plinth. The statue depicts King Edward VII holding a sceptre and orb, dressed in the robes of the Order of the Garter—the oldest and most senior order of British chivalry.

This bronze by Henry Bain Smith (1857-1893) was cast in July 1892 and unveiled two months later.

Located right in the heart of the city, to one side of Union Terrace, off the city's main thoroughfare of Union Street.
