Knockburn Sports Loch & Outdoor Centre

Knockburn Sports Loch and Conference Centre is a 65-acre multi-sport and conference venue near Strachan, just outside Banchory. The site’s main feature is a 7-acre purpose-built loch ideal for triathlon, open water swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing.A network of trails around the site is perfect for running, walking, and cycling, including a 650m tarmac cycle track ideal for teaching children to cycle. Equipment hire and group lessons are available for SUP boards and sit-on-top kayaks, with sailing courses offered through Aberdeenshire Sailing Trust. Beach volleyball court hire is also available.A simple coffee shop operates on summer weekends, serving homemade scones, cakes, teas, coffees, and breakfast rolls.The centre offers versatile conference and meeting facilities with various packages, including full or half-day room hire, conferences combined with paddleboarding and raft building, and adventure/problem-solving activities. Corporate family days and demonstration events can also be hosted, with ample parking, large outdoor spaces, and indoor facilities.
