Once a simple old stone cottage dating back to the 1700s, Crossgates has been lovingly refurbished to become a charming, characterful holiday home. Inside the small yet perfectly formed cottage is a welcoming sitting room with a wood-burning stove that leads through to two lovely bedrooms. There is a well-equipped kitchen where tasty meals can be prepared with ease. Completing the property is a toilet/shower room, a porch with seating, and a large garden which wraps around the house.

Rosehearty has two harbours, the old harbour formed of two stone piers and 2 acres in extent. Port Rae Harbour, now disused, lies to the east and has an area of 10 acres. Forty years ago, during the herring season, it was barely large enough for all the drifters landing their fish for the twelve curers of Rosehearty.
