Craigen Cottage

Craigen Cottage, a very charming, traditional pink-granite holiday cottage, is set within a fully enclosed and beautiful picket-fenced garden, and is located in the very heart of the picturesque Royal Deeside village of Ballater.

Perfectly placed and in easy walking distance to the Royal-appointed independent shops, coffee houses, fine dining restaurants, art galleries, Ballater Golf Course, and the River Dee. In addition, there are numerous sporting and outdoor leisure pursuits within close reach here in the Cairngorms National Park, including hillwalking, cycling, fishing, golf, or skiing at Glenshee or The Lecht. Ballater is also the closest village to the beautiful Balmoral Castle, holiday home to the Royal Family since Victorian times.

The cosy cottage interior is designed in a modern vintage style with gorgeous fabrics, local Scottish artwork, and wooden oak floorboards. Craigen comfortably sleeps up to six people in three individually-themed double bedrooms, one conveniently located on the ground floor.

With a spacious, well-equipped dining kitchen, living room with cosy wood burner, Wi-Fi, and Sky TV, a bathroom with over-shower, and a separate shower room downstairs, the accommodation is both comfortable and practical.

Outside, relax and enjoy the fully enclosed private front and very sunny rear gardens. There are several seating areas with patio furniture and a pretty summer house. Children’s toys and books are available for younger guests, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request. There is lockable storage outside for any sports equipment or bikes you may wish to bring.

One well-behaved pet dog is always very welcome by prior arrangement to join your holiday.
