Family Clay Ornaments With Alison Thyra - The Barn

Join ceramicist Alison Thyra in this festive workshop where you will make your own ceramic Christmas ornaments. You will learn how to roll out clay and shape two ornaments of your choice from a selection of designs, add texture with clay stamps and decorate with colourful underglaze paints. Finished ornaments will be fired and glazed by Alison and returned for collection on the 18th, 19th, 20thor 23rd Dec between 11am and 4pm in FOLD, Craft and Design Store.

Please wear appropriate clothing for working with clay and paints. Recommended for children above 8yrs+ Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Alison Thyra makes iridescent ceramic jewellery and homewares in her studio in Aberdeenshire. Gray’s School of Art graduate where she studied 3D design, specialising in ceramics. Her geometric ceramics are made using a combination of hand making techniques, a process called slip casting, and digital technologies, such as 3D printing.

Suitable for everyone age 8+, under 16’s must be accompanied by a paying adult.
