About Rhynie Pictish Stones
The Rhynie Pictish Stones display comprises one Class I and two Class II carved stones. The Class I stone, made of pink granite, is incised with a beast, a comb, and part of an arch symbol. It was discovered nearby at Barflat.
The two Class II stones were found beneath the old church. One, made of whinstone, bears a beast’s head, double-disc, Z-rod, and mirror & comb symbols. The other, made of red granite, is incised with a double-disc, crescent & V-rod, and mirror symbol. Please note that the access road and parking area are not suitable for coaches or buses.
