There’s something deeply comforting about a Sunday roast - thick slices of meat, golden roasties, Yorkshire puddings, seasonal veg, and rich gravy. In Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, you’re spoiled for choice: from classic pubs to country-house hotels, here are some top places to enjoy a roast that really hits the spot.

1. No.10 Bar & Restaurant, Aberdeen

Located in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End, No.10 Bar & Restaurant offers a slow-cooked Sunday roast that feels both elevated and homely. Their menu usually includes options like Black & Gold Rib Roast or Roast Chicken Supreme, served with all the trimmings - roast potatoes, seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding, skirlie, and rich red wine gravy.

For an elegant Sunday lunch, head out to Ardoe House Hotel & Spa. Every Sunday, they serve a traditional roast with a choice of 1, 2, or 3 meats. Options include honey & mustard gammon, roast rib of beef, and turkey.

The roast comes with braised red cabbage, roasted root veg, crisp potatoes, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy - even better, children under 3 eat free. It’s the kind of roast that feels like a celebration.

If you’re in Aberdeenshire and want a roast in a relaxed, modern restaurant, Fennel in Inverurie is an excellent pick. Their Sunday roast menu rotates but usually has three different roasts available throughout the day, so you’ve got some variety to choose from.

All three roasts are served with skirlie, mash, garlic roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips & carrots, steamed greens, rich gravy and giant proper homemade yorkies.
