Pennan may be a small village but it has a big claim to fame. Its traditional red telephone box became an icon after featuring in the classic film Local Hero and visitors continue to make a call from the famous box, reliving a slice of movie history.

Fans can also visit the Pennan Inn, which featured in the film, while exploring the village’s charming street of colourful, gable-end cottages.

Pennan is a haven for wildlife and natural beauty, the pebble beach and small harbour provide excellent opportunities to spot dolphins and grey seals basking on the rocks. The rugged coastline, especially dramatic during winter storms, offers stunning views and a truly atmospheric experience.
