Jump to another place...

Just 10 miles north of Aberdeen, Newmachar offers easy access to the countryside while staying close to the city.

The village sits along the Formartine and Buchan Way, a 53-mile route following the old railway line, perfect for walking and cycling through Aberdeenshire. To the south, Newmachar Golf Club is famed for its ties to Paul Lawrie, who played here during his 1999 Open victory.

With welcoming hotels and B&Bs, Newmachar makes a great base for exploring both Aberdeen and the surrounding landscapes.
