About Safe Anchor - a Fundraising Concert Celebrating 30 Years of Friends of Anchor - Music Hall

‘Safe ANCHOR’ - a fundraising concert celebrating 30 years of ‘Friends of ANCHOR’, the charity which helps cancer, haematology and radiotherapy patients from Aberdeenshire, Orkney & Shetland at the ANCHOR unit, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Robert Lovie presides as Master of Ceremonies for this Gala evening, Tim Tricker conducts the ‘Safe ANCHOR Orchestra’ and Laura Pike, Musical Director, conducts the ‘Friends of ANCHOR patient choir’ in a Scottish flavoured evening.

The Friends of ANCHOR patient choir, and some members of the orchestra, are either undergoing treatment or are former patients, and are delighted to take part in this event to demonstrate positive outcomes.

Dr Paul Anderson MBE, Tarland’s renowned fiddler, features with his ‘Hielan’ Symphony’ and virtuoso traditional playing. Shetlander Chris Stout’s poignant ‘Michaelswood’, ‘Ashokan Farewell’, and other much-loved music add to the programme along with the choir showcasing their talents. Our Lone Piper completes the lineup of local talent bringing a one off, unique night of entertainment.
