About The Good Girl - The Lemon Tree
The Good Girl is built upon the lived experiences of Mary Jane Wells in caring for her father, Peter, who lived with dementia. Using Peter’s own testimony and drawing upon Mary Jane’s reflections of what loving and living with someone with dementia is like, The Good Girl offers a unique, rarely expressed perspective on what care and caregiving really looks like - and what it costs us. In a country where as many as 2.6 million people aren’t receiving the care and support they need, where their families are at breaking point, The Good Girl draws on first-hand experience to provide a bridge between those of us who are having similarly challenging conversations around aging well, mental health and cognitive decline.
