Third Stage Art: Mixed Media With Katie Hammond - The Barn

Join artist Katie Hammond to explore new ways of observing and responding to nature through mixed media. Experiment with materials, create mini practice studies, working towards finished paintings. You will be encouraged to go with the flow and react intuitively to the direction that these materials will take you.

In these relaxed classes, you will be guided to capture semi-abstract fleeting moments in nature. Showing you the endless possibilities that can be achieved when you use the materials and processes that feel right in that moment. Each week, you’ll take home your own experiments and paintings, along with inspiration to continue your practice beyond the classes.

Katie Hammond is a mixed media artist in Aberdeen. Living life at a slower pace with chronic illnesses, she takes her time wandering through local gardens and woodlands. She finds herself daydreaming and noticing the magic of fleeting moments that could be so easily missed. She captures these moments, working intuitively with unusual combinations of materials and processes. Katie hopes her paintings are as calming for you to view as they are for her to create.
