Jo Mango plus support - The Lemon Tree

Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jo Mango has co-written lead singles with internationally acclaimed Scottish bands, such as Teenage Fanclub (Baby Lee) and Admiral Fallow (Beetle in the Box), lending lyrics and/or performances to tracks by Karine Polwart, Siobhan Wilson and many others. As a performing member of Vashti Bunyan’s band she has played countless legendary stages across the world including the Carnegie Hall (NYC) for David Byrne’s Welcome to Dreamland alt-folk showcase. She also works in theatre, including co-devising award-winning gig theatre show A Giant on the Bridge and working on songs for the National Theatre of Scotland’s 100 Voices installation (residing in the Scottish Parliament building for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026). This year she returns (for the first time in over a decade) to focusing on her own solo work, for which she has toured extensively in North America and Japan, including appearances on KCRW Radio’s taste-making show Morning Becomes Eclectic (LA), showcasing at SXSW (Texas) and NXNE (Toronto), as well as Foundland (Tokyo). Her third album The Lightswitch was launched in June this year. It is a luminous concept album that builds itself a tiny house from beauty, grief and longing. The record was produced by Adem Ilhan, who has worked with Radiohead’s Phillip Selway, Fourtet’s Kieran Hebden, and recently created the music for Tim Key’s feature film The Ballad of Wallace Island. It features strings by the Elysian Collective (Pulp, Beth Gibbons) and drums by Chris Vatalaro (Radiohead, Brian Eno, Anhoni, Sam Amidon).
