Talk by Kim Smith, Archivist at Aberdeen City and Shire Archives.
Richard Irvin & Sons Limited were a company of trawler owners and fish sellers founded in North Shields, with business sites across the North East of Scotland including Aberdeen and Peterhead. The company’s creator, Richard Irvin, was described as the “Founder of Steam Trawling”. In this talk our Archivist will take a closer look at this man, his family, and some of the records included in the collection held by Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives.
