In The Flesh: 4 Day Summer Sculpt Torso In Clay - Venus De Milo - Johnshaven Village Hall

Inspired by the Venus de Milo. Practise your observational sculpting skills from life on a 4 day sculpting course.

With Rebecca on hand to guide your progress, this course begins with a series of short observational sketches designed to familiarise the 360° features of the sitter. This is followed by a small 3D clay sketch of the life models torso. The remainder of the course concentrates on the creation of one fully formed torso clay sculpture (approx.35/40cm in height).
A great opportunity to study proportion/scale of the complete figure and build an appreciation of human anatomy. Practice working armatures into position, figure composition and sculpt finer detail.

This course takes place alongside students sculpting the bust and hand. The model will be undraped. Sculpture will be left as greenware (unfired).
