Easy Walk
Depart from Green Hut Ballater at 10:30am by bus. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

DESCRIPTION
Leaving from Crathie car park we head past the Crathie cemetery, resting place of John Brown, The devoted and faithful personal attendant and beloved friend of QUEEN VICTORIA. We continue on to the recently renovated white suspension bridge to cross over the River Dee, before heading towards Easter Balmoral. From here, we start our ascent and will visit several of the famous Balmoral Cairns on Craig Gowan Hill, built by the Royal family in commemoration of various family members and events. The walk affords stunning views over Deeside and Balmoral estate, before descending to the river at Invergelder. From here, we walk back along the river, to our starting point, taking in some other memorials to members of the Royal family along the way.

On good tracks, but with a few sharp climbs. Poles recommended.
