SNJO Spring Concert (March - Music Hall

Award-winning master vibraphonist Joe Locke joins the SNJO once again to play an exciting selection of tracks taken from the modern American songbook. This time, Joe is joined by renowned vocalist, Tommy Blaize, the featured singer on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Singer-songwriters such as Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Billy Joel and Bill Withers brought heartfelt soul to their work, while artists and performers like The Isley Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan and Earth Wind & Fire showered their enduring recordings with jazz, funk, orchestral and eclectic ornamentation. Joe, Tommy and the SNJO imbue this repertoire with a distinct jazz sensibility while maintaining all of the appealing features which made us love these classics in the first place.
