About MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards - Music Hall
The MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards returns to Aberdeen Music Hall. Known as the Folk Oscars, the 2025 MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards will feature performances from some of Scotland’s leading Scottish traditional music artists, So join the party this December where you will be guaranteed a very warm welcome, whilst we shine the spotlight on the 2025 Scottish traditional music luminaries as part of this toe tapping event.
Hosted by Scottish personalities Alistair Heather and Mary Ann Kennedy, the night in the Granite City will also welcome live performances from some of the brightest lights on the thriving trad scene today including beloved singer Hannah Rarity, UK folk legends The Poozies, trad pop band Mec Lir and BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician and Scots Performer of the Year Ellie Beaton.
Assynt piano player Rory Matheson will lead his Scottish Dance Band, while young musicians from Plockton Music School and Orkney youth project Hadhirgaan will also have the chance to perform.
