Tarland Food and Music Festival - The MacRobert Hall

Now in its 13th year, Tarland Food & Music Festival is one of Aberdeenshire's most loved community events - four days of incredible live music, brilliant food and drink, free family fun and community spirit in the heart of Royal Deeside.

Taking place from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th September in the village of Tarland, this year's festival features three headline evening concerts at the MacRobert Hall - Breabach with Hannah Rarity (Friday 18th), The Laurettes with Raivelt (Saturday 19th), and Ellie Beaton in Conversation and Performance hosted by broadcaster Frieda Morrison (Sunday 20th).

Beyond the music, the weekend is packed with activities for all ages and interests. Food lovers can enjoy a Local Produce Market, a Miso Masterclass with Slow Sauce, a Goan lunch with The Spice Route Cookery School, a Meet the Maker session with Angus Alchemy, Afternoon Tea at Douneside House, and street food from Smoke and Soul. Those looking to connect with the Aberdeenshire countryside can join a foraging walk with medical herbalist Natasha Lloyd, a mushroom walk with Dr Andy Taylor from the James Hutton Institute, pond dipping at the Viewfield wetlands, an introduction to scything, and a history walk through the village.

Family-friendly free activities include the Tarland Lego Club Minifigure Trail, the Tarland Toddlers Duck Race, storytelling with Pauline Cordiner, and performances from Towie and District Pipe Band and Granite City Brass Band in the village square. The festival opens on Thursday evening with a special film screening from Tarland Film Club.
