About The Fife Arms
The Clunie Dining Room
Under the guidance of Head Chef Magnus Burstedt, The Clunie Dining Room celebrates the best of Scottish produce and ingredients. The interior has been transformed by Argentinian artist Guillermo Kuitca, whose Clunie River Mural in a distinctive cubistoid style reconciles abstraction with figuration. Kuitca created this work in residence in Braemar, responding to the hotel and its dramatic location in the Cairngorms. The restaurant welcomes both hotel guests and non-residents.The Flying Stag
The public bar at The Fife Arms, now known as The Flying Stag, remains the social centre of Braemar. With a vibrant atmosphere, lively conversation, and live entertainment, it brings together locals and visitors alike. The bar serves local beers, Scottish whiskies, spirits, and a menu of bar snacks and hearty Scottish dishes. The bar’s namesake artwork was created by James Prosek, depicting a hybrid animal combining the wings of a ptarmigan with the body of a stag, reflecting the Cairngorms landscape. The Drawing Room
A blend of art and history, The Drawing Room features walls covered in The Fife Arms tartan, richly furnished with Scottish art and antiques. Guests can relax over coffee, afternoon tea, or cocktails. The ceiling, commissioned from Chinese artist Zhang Enli, presents Ancient Quartz, inspired by the cross-sections of Scottish agates, creating an immersive environment full of colour and texture.Elsa’s Bar
Elsa’s Bar brings Art Deco glamour to the Highlands, inspired by fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli’s love of shocking pink and witty “bon mots.” This intimate bar offers champagne, handcrafted cocktails, and a showcase of Scottish spirits, making it perfect for a pre-dinner aperitif or late-night digestif.Accommodation
