Somers Fishing tackle

Somers Fishing was opened in 1951 by Jim Somes on Thistle Street in Aberdeen. Somes was the manufacturer of the famous Grant Vibration Green Heart Rod, which remains popular today and is considered by many anglers to be one of the best rods ever created. This rod established Somers Fishing as a quality manufacturer in the UK angling industry.As Jim’s health declined, he sold the shop to the current owner, David Craik. David secured contracts with major international tackle suppliers, including Daiwa Sports, Abu Garcia, Shakespeare, Leeda, and House of Hardy, growing the customer base and strengthening loyalty through his commitment to excellent service.In 1995, the business moved to larger premises on Bon-Accord Terrace, just off Aberdeen’s main thoroughfare, with Paul Young of Hooked On Scotland conducting the grand opening. Since then, Somers Fishing has continued to grow and is revered as one of the premier suppliers of fishing tackle and equipment in the UK.
