Sir Arthur Grant Centre

The Sir Arthur Grant Centre, owned and operated by Aberdeenshire Council, can accommodate up to 34 people across two dorms, two twin rooms, and two fully accessible en-suite rooms. Set in stunning countryside close to Bennachie with its walking routes, the River Don for fishing and wild swimming, and the historic conservation village of Monymusk, the centre underwent a full refurbishment and extension in 2023–24.The centre features a large open-plan self-catering kitchen, dining room, and lounge, plus a large indoor activity room and extensive grounds, including a woodland area. Additional facilities include a drying room, laundry, staff area, and a raised fire bowl for outdoor cooking or campfires. Guests can also book on-site activities such as the climbing tower, body zorbs, team-building games, nature activities, and cycle skills sessions.Located on the North East Castle Trail, the centre is close to Castle Fraser, Craigievar Castle, and several others. Nearby attractions include the Pitfichie Mountain Bike trails, Alford Alpine, and Huntly Nordic Ski centres. Fine dining is available at the Grant Arms Hotel in Monymusk.The accommodation includes two dorms with bunk beds for 14 each, two twin rooms, and two accessible en-suite single rooms (each with a fold-down bed). Camping or motorhome parking may be possible by arrangement.The centre provides secure cycle storage, facilities for bike maintenance, and a good broadband connection with Wi-Fi throughout. There is also a small lounge and office area available for guests’ use.
