About Sillyflatt Fare, Fields and Gatherings

The farm shop is well-stocked with a diverse selection of fresh produce, artisan cheeses, local meat and game, as well as an eclectic range of rural crafts, ethical gifts, vintage tweed clothing, and curated books on the outdoors, wellness, and cookery.

On-site, visitors will find a thriving no-dig market garden, a flock of sheep bred for hogget and fleece, free-ranging hens and geese, flourishing wildflower meadows, newly established orchards, and inviting outdoor gathering spaces.

Our Airstream cafe known as 'The Field Kitchen', offers seasonal, homegrown, local, and foraged ingredients in a range of brunch-style dishes to be enjoyed in our covered outdoor seating area 'The Field Shelter' overlooking the fields and out to sea. The perfect spot is also for a barista coffee and home bake, a cool drink or ice cream or why not make it a stop off on one of our many scenic local walks.

Unique event spaces are offered for hire within our 'Flower Field', the 'Field Shelter' and The Yurt. Available individually or combined, they are suitable for Food & Drink tastings, culinary workshops, craft and well-being sessions, or private and business gatherings. We also occasionally host long-table gatherings, fire cooking and special food-based events. Check our social media and website for updates and news on all upcoming events and for bookings.

New this year is our wood fired sauna! An exclusive use space for a maximum of four people, it can be hired out on its own (includes a cold dip) or in conjunction with an outdoor fire experience or the beautiful yurt for longer experiences and/or more people.

Our 2 bedroomed holiday cottage 'The Cottar House' sits on the farm's edge overlooking fields and sea. With 180-degree open views and private garden, it creates calm and a sense of escape, while being within easy walking distance of two well-served villages offering pubs, shops, takeaways, and, of course, our own on-farm cafe and shop.

Sillyflatt Farm is located in the Mearns area of southern Aberdeenshire, is immediately adjacent to the main coastal A92, has excellent bus connections and is on National Cycle Route Number 1.
