About Session Cottage Mueseum

The opening of the Session Cottage was the first project undertaken by the Turriff and District Heritage Society, recreating a traditional “but and ben” (two-room) cottage styled as it would have been in 1900. First opened in the 1980s, it has been going strong ever since — preserving the past for the future.

The Session Cottage offers a fascinating opportunity for groups to step back in time and experience how ordinary people lived in days gone by.
