Glenglassaugh Distillery, standing on the Moray Firth Coast at the edge of Sandend Bay, is a distillery which lay silent and forgotten for over two decades. Its heritage stretches back to 1875 when the distillery was founded by James Moir.

Coastal fortifications can still be found along the Banffshire coastline including the rugged ruins of Findlater Castle on a tiny peninsula with a 50 foot drop to the sea below.
