Kincardine Fishing Beat

About Kincardine Fishing Beat

Kincardine Beat lies in the heart of the River Dee, near the village of Kincardine O’Neil, around 30 miles from the sea. This 1.25-mile stretch offers superb fly-fishing for up to 3 rods in spring, early summer, and autumn (reduced to 2 rods in July and August). The beat features classic pools like the March and Calm Pools, Lucky Hole, and Clay Pot, many of which are sheltered from northerly winds. In high water, the Ford also becomes fishable. Most of the beat can be fished from the bank, with small flies and floating lines working well throughout the season. It's known for some of the best sea-trout fishing on the Dee, particularly at night in summer for dedicated anglers. The riverbank is rich in wildlife—from wildflowers and birds to otters and deer.Facilities include a spacious riverside fishing hut with a log stove, running water, composting toilet, BBQ, and a covered verandah, as well as a second scenic hut with a log fire overlooking the upper pools.
