Goukstone Shepherds Huts

Our eco-friendly Shepherd's Huts at Goukstone are the perfect place to tune out, relax and enjoy the stunning views down the Ythan and Gight valley. Just because we're off grid doesn't mean you have to compromise on luxury; our cosy huts are decked out in tweeds and natural fabrics and are lined with sustainable sheep wool insulation. The solar panels provide carbon free electricity and your water comes directly from our own spring fed well. The Hobbit Stove will keep you warm and toasty too, providing the ideal place to 'coorie-in' after a day of exploring this idyllic part of Aberdeenshire. We think its important to have your own space when you want to be this close to nature so our huts are located well apart from each other and a short walk from where you can park. Our Bracken hut is ideal for couples with its ensuite shower and separate field kitchen while Rowan with its added bunk beds for kids and own 'Hobbit' bathroom and field kitchen is perfect for a family. This is a great base for exploring the coast, walking or cycling or visiting any of the castles and gardens located nearby. We have e-bikes available for hire too and with each hut having its own fire pit and outdoor seating, toasting marshmallows and watching the stars would be the perfect way to wrap up your adventure.
