About Garioch Heritage Centre

The Garioch Heritage Centre is a four-star visitor attraction in rural Aberdeenshire, just 40 minutes from Aberdeen City.

Housed in a beautifully converted former industrial building part of the historic Inverurie Locomotive Works and recognized for its industrial heritage (B listed). The centre offers a fully accessible permanent exhibition exploring the North East of Scotland’s history from the early 20th century to today.

The centre hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions, live theatre, musical events, and arts and crafts workshops, serving as a vibrant cultural hub for locals and visitors alike. Its library and reading area support local history research with growing digitised resources.

Visitors can enjoy home-baked treats and light lunches at Café Loco, which also caters for groups. Onsite parking, coach access, and private guided tours (by appointment) are available. Fully equipped meeting rooms with AV facilities and catering options make the centre ideal for events.

A warm welcome awaits all ages, year-round.
