The Garioch Heritage Centre is a four-star visitor attraction in rural Aberdeenshire, just 40 minutes from Aberdeen City. Housed in a beautifully converted former industrial building—part of the historic Inverurie Locomotive Works and recognized for its industrial heritage (B listed)—the centre offers a fully accessible permanent exhibition exploring the North East of Scotland’s history from the early 20th century to today.The centre hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions, live theatre, musical events, and arts and crafts workshops, serving as a vibrant cultural hub for locals and visitors alike. Its library and reading area support local history research with growing digitised resources.Visitors can enjoy home-baked treats and light lunches at CaféLoco, which also caters for groups. Onsite parking, coach access, and private guided tours (by appointment) are available.
