About Duff House Royal Golf Club

Duff House Royal is a challenging par 68 for gentlemen and par 72 for ladies, bordered by the River Deveron, which creates hazards on several holes. Renowned for its outstanding course, it features large, two-tiered, double greens designed by the legendary Dr. Alister MacKenzie in 1923—the same architect behind Augusta National, home of The Masters. Duff House Royal remains true to MacKenzie’s original design.Though near the sea, the course is a flat, beautifully manicured parkland with little rough, well-placed bunkers, and trees, offering a fair but demanding challenge for golfers of all skill levels. At the course’s heart stands Duff House, one of the grandest classical country houses of the 18th century, designed by William Adam. The club is members and guests only, welcoming members from other golf clubs. The restaurant serves the best local produce with options for lunches, snacks, and evening meals. Panoramic windows offer ever-changing views of the Hill o' Doune, the Moray Firth, the seven-span Smeaton Bridge over the River Deveron, and the MacKenzie course in all its glory. The clubhouse is a place to anticipate the game ahead or reflect on what might have been, offering good food, pleasant company, a well-stocked bar, and comfortable sofas to relax while watching the world go by.
