Farmers' markets to explore in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire

There’s something special about shopping local. From chatting to the people who grew your vegetables to discovering handmade goodies you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or you’re lucky enough to live here, farmers' markets are a great way to experience the regions rich food culture and warm hospitality.

If you're a foodie, or just love a good browse, here are some of the top spots to pick up something local and delicious.

West End Farmers’ Market - Queen’s Cross, Aberdeen

Held on the first Sunday of each month (April–September) in the garden of Fountainhall Church this market has quickly become a City favourite. Bringing together over a dozen local producers, from Granite City Fish and Woodmill Game to The Bread Guy. it’s a lively morning with buckets of community spirit.

Where? Fountainhall Church (38 Albyn Place, Aberdeen) 
When? 1st Sunday of the month from April to September, 10 am–1 pm

Inverurie Farmers’ Market

A vibrant market in the heart of the Garioch, Inverurie is a hub for all things local. Expect fresh fruit and veg, homemade preserves, locally reared meats, and friendly banter with producers who know their stuff.

Where? Inverurie Town Square 
When?  2nd Saturday of the month, 9am–1pm

Don’t miss: A buttery warm from the oven and a coffee from one of the local roasters.

Banchory Farmers’ Market

Set against a backdrop of beautiful Deeside scenery, this market has a strong community feel. Alongside the fresh produce, you’ll often find live music, handmade crafts, and street food trucks, ideal for a relaxed Saturday stroll.

Where?  Banchory Bellfield Car Park 
When?  3rd Saturday of every month, 9am–1pm

Bring: Your appetite, and maybe a tote bag or two. You'll fill them quickly.

Stonehaven Farmers’ Market

Full of flavour, Stonehaven’s market is worth a visit if you’re down by the coast. It’s right by the Market Square, so you can browse local stalls then take a short walk down to the harbour for fish and chips by the sea.

Where?  Market Square, Stonehaven 
When?  1st Saturday of every month, 9am–1pm

Try: Local berries in the summer and award-winning pies year-round.

Huntly Farmers’ Market

This community market features a range of seasonal produce and crafts, with a welcoming vibe that makes it well worth the trip. Plus, Huntly is a great place to explore, with local walks and heritage sites nearby.

Where? The Square, Huntly 
When?  1st Saturday of the month, 9am–1pm
