Ellie Beaton & Gillie O'Flaherty at Stonehaven Folk Club
Hailing from outside the small village of Rothienorman in the North-East of Scotland, Ellie Beaton is one of Scotland’s most exciting award-winning singers. Having been brought up immersed in the deeply rooted traditions of the North-East of Scotland, she is well acquainted with the rich and vibrant Aberdeenshire styles of singing.
Described as ‘A singer to be reckoned with’ by Celtic Connections, Ellie became the youngest recipient of the MG Alba Citty Finlayson Scots Singer of the Year 2021, in addition to becoming a finalist in the prestigious BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, aged only eighteen.
Currently, Ellie is going into her fourth year studying Bachelors of Music in Vocal Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, whilst being a prominent singer in the Scottish Classical and Folk scene.
