Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
It’s fantasmagorical and more than spectacular - “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” will be flying on to stage in the Summer!
Following on from another sold out and fabulously well received pantomime, Upstage Aboyne are thrilled to be bringing the magic of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” to audiences over four shows. These will feature our fabulous, fully integrated BSL signer and includes a matinee performance on the Saturday.
When Jeremy and Jemima find an old, famous racing car in a junkyard they persuade their eccentric, inventor father, Caractacus Potts, to restore it to its former glory. Together with Truly Scrumptious, the family set off on an adventure in their magical, newly named car, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. However, it attracts the attention of two spies from the Land of Vulgaria who have been tasked with stealing the car for the car-loving and child-hating Baron and Baroness Bomburst. Poor Grandpa Potts gets mistaken for his inventor son and he is kidnapped and taken to Vulgaria. Because of the magical powers of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” the Potts family are able to race to rescue Grandpa. However, Jeremy and Jemima need to hide from the evil Childcatcher as children are forbidden in the land of Vulgaria. But will the Childcatcher find them? They befriend the Toymaker who devises a way to get Truly and Caractacus into the castle to rescue Grandpa and the children. A fight with the Baron’s soldiers follows but with teamwork and the help of “Chitty” they escape safely back to England!
This truly scrumptious, magical, heart warming story makes for a fun-filled show for all the family!
