A day of friendly competitions in the Traditional Music, Song and Verse. The day is designed to encourage participation in the Traditional Culture of North East Scotland in particular. With competitions for adults and Juniors in the following categories
Bothy ballads
Traditional Song
Sea Shanty or Work Song
Free-Style Traditional Singing
Fiddle
Accordion
Melodeon
Diddling
Tine Whistle
Clarsach
Mouth Organ
Song and Tune Writing
Scots/Doric Verse and Storytelling.
Everyone welcome those wishing to compete and those wishing to watch. Competitions start at 10.30am and go on through the day and entry must be received 15 minutes before the start time for the competition. Teas and Coffees available throughout the day.
Followed in the evening by a session where performers will be encouraged to have a turn again tea and coffee will be available.
