Ellon Castle Gardens
Ellon Castle Gardens is a tranquil secret garden in the centre of the small town of Ellon. Up until very recently, it had only been seen by a very few people, as it was the private walled garden of the historic Ellon Castle, which sits overlooking the town. The garden was recently gifted to the people of Ellon the gardens have been restored by a charitable trust and a committed group of volunteers.
As well as the ruins of the 15th Century Castle, the beautiful floral displays and abundant fruit trees, the garden has some of the oldest and largest yew trees in Scotland, which are believed to be at least 500 years old, and which provide a shady canopy under which to relax and enjoy the views.
