Haddo House Angling Club
Haddo House Angling Club has 6 miles of contiguous fishing on the south bank of the river Ythan. Gight castle overlooks the secluded upper beat of Gight, The beat of Gight runs through a wooded valley where a variety of the local wild life can be regularly seen, visit our website for photographs. The next beat is Methlick which starts at Waterloo bridge and passes through the village of Methlick. The village of Methlick provides accommodation food and refreshments at the local Ythanview Hotel, sandwiches and coffee etc can be purchased at the local Cost Cutters shop. The Methlick beat has 3 shelters spread over the beat. The final beat is Tarves, this was reserved for guest to Haddo House until 2016, HHAC has taken over the running of this very productive fishing beat in 2017.
Season 2017 fishing returns is 43 salmon, 73 sea trout and 109 finnock, brown trout catches are not recorded.
Sea trout fishing is best between the end of May through to the end of September, salmon fishing is best between the end of August trough to the 31st October. Finnock are usually in the water between February and early April the late August to 31st October.
