Gannet Cottage
This superb holiday cottage in the conservation sea town area of Gardenstown, was originally a fisherman’s cottage, built in the 19th century, and is directly on the Moray Firth seafront, where if you are fortunate, you can see the local school of dolphins.
Lie in bed listening to the sound of the waves lapping on the sea wall, directly below you.
The inside of the property was recently modernised while still retaining the traditional features of generations past. The lounge now features three windows with views of the Moray Firth which is approx. 3 metres from the gable of the house at high tide. Gannet Cottage also features a large eating kitchen; bathroom with bath and shower over; and upstairs, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom.
When the tide is in the water is directly below you, and when the tide is out the shore clears to leave a beach of sand and then sandstone rocks and pools which become home and feeding grounds to all types of seabirds. A viewing scope on a tripod within the cottage is provided so you get a closer view.
Cosy down for the evening and Gannet Cottage has a wood burning stove, full Wi-Fi, a large wall mounted flat screen television with Freeview and a “Bose” sound deck to allow you to bluetooth your favourite music.
