Cambus O'May - Forestry Commission Scotland
Cambus O'May is a place that you will want to visit again and again. It has lochans, bridges and winding trails through the Scots Pine on waymarked routes. The views are terrific and you can see up Deeside to the mountains beyond.
This woodland will enchant you with its hidden gems and variety of trails. You'll enjoy the tranquility of the towering Scots Pines, the sweeping Grand Firs, two Lochans and outstanding views.
In summer, you'll see dancing Damselflies and Dragonflies over the lochans. Watch out for the rare pearl bordered Fritillary Butterfly flitting among the plants (it has two silver 'pearls' on the underside of its hind wings). You might catch a glimpse of Red Squirrels, or even a Capercaillie or Black Grouse so please keep your dog under close control.
