Parkland & Heathland Courses

Inland, 35 parkland courses in splendid settings can be uncovered – in the city, among forests and glens, on great estates and rugged heaths, in castle grounds and tree-filled parks, alongside fast-flowing rivers.

For city dwellers there’s many attractive parkland courses set away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Only a short distance from the city centre, Hazlehead Golf Course remains a popular course for visitors wishing to stay close whilst Peterculter Golf Club truly encapsulates the beauty of the city’s vast rolling green fairways. Just outside of the city centre, local golfer Paul Lawrie’s very own Golf Centre boasts a nine-hole championship golf course and on-site driving range.

Royal Deeside’s towns and villages are home to some of the best parkland and heathland courses found this side of Scotland. The UK’s highest golf course is at Braemar, where Aberdeenshire meets the Cairngorms National Park, and has unrivalled panoramic views of regal Royal Deeside. And if you venture a little further along, encircled by great hills you will find Ballater Golf Club – an 18-hole parkland course right in the heart of the immense countryside.
