The Urquhart
The Urquhart is a unique property, nestled in the heart of Aberdeenshire. Originally a brewery, this deceptively spacious C listed building has ample charm and character, but has been refurbished to the high standard expected and is both quirky and comfortable.
Set over two storeys, the main accommodation is on the upper floor, providing sleeping accommodation for 6 guests with a large Master Bedroom, Twin Room and Double Room all named after castles locally, The Barra, The Fyvie and The Mounie. These are complemented by a fully equipped kitchen, two walk in shower rooms, and an open mezzanine style sitting room. On the ground floor, you will find The Garden Room, for eating and socialising, leading through to the the vaulted ceilinged, Pheasant Bar, complete with your own bar to host, pool table, football table and on further to The Den, for TV/Games /Books and some snug and quiet recreation.
The bustling town of Oldmeldrum, is ideally situated for tourists, wedding guests, tourists or staycationers, as well as those coming to work in the area. There is s so much to see and do locally, with Lochter Activity Centre, Pitmedden Gardens and Haddo House. Close by, all within 30 minutes or less are several prestigious wedding venues, including Meldrum House Country Hotel, and Barra Castle, as well as excellent golfing. If you are interested in whisky, we have a working distillery, The Glengarioch, just five minutes walk from The Urquhart, where you can enjoy a guided tour and a dram, with many other distilleries and historic castles to explore.
The Urquhart has been created as a home away from home, designed to encapsulate the unique and deceptive size of the building, married with the modern facilities our guests require. With comfortable and bright airy spaces and kitted throughout to anticipate the needs of friends and family sharing some valuable down time together, whatever the season or reason, we look forward to welcoming you soon.
