Originally built around 1820, Shorehead Guest House is a traditional fisherman's dwelling with fantastic views of Stonehaven Harbour. It is located at the start of the breath-taking coastal path to Dunnottar Castle which is about 1.5 miles away.

We offer a variety of rooms suitable for individuals, couples, groups and families. Throughout your visit you'll enjoy free Wi-Fi, a complimentary continental breakfast and free parking along the harbour front. Shorehead Guest House is ideally located to experience the charm of the historic seaside town of Stonehaven. You will find award-winning bars and restaurants showcasing the best of Scottish fare as well as freshly caught seafood within easy walking distance. There's lots to do in the area including taking a stroll along the boardwalk along Cowie Beach, exploring sea caves on a paddle board, taking a sauna by the sea, fishing, taking a dip in the heated open-air swimming pool or hiring a boat. Many visitors enjoy exploring the "auld toon", visit the Tolbooth museum and, of course, visit Dunnottar Castle. Alternatively, you can kick back, relax and enjoy the views.

Stonehaven’s location makes it an ideal base for exploring the wider region. The city of Aberdeen, with its museums, galleries, and shopping, is only a short drive or train ride away. The Cairngorms National Park, about an hour’s drive west, offers stunning landscapes, hiking trails, and opportunities for wildlife spotting. The Aberdeenshire Coastal Trail, with its scenic villages and cliffs, is also within easy reach. The options for day trips are almost endless!

Located about 15 miles south of Aberdeen, Stonehaven is easily accessible by car via the A90. It is also well served by regular public transport; the train station has regular services from Aberdeen, taking about 15 minutes, as well as connections from Edinburgh and Glasgow. There are also frequent buses from Aberdeen. Aberdeen International Airport is the nearest airport, about a 30-minute drive away.

Delux Family Room/Suite

Two Deluxe Family Rooms are available, both providing stunning views over Stonehaven Harbour.. One has the option of a Kingsize or Twin beds, while the other has a Kingsize bed. Both rooms include a sofa bed which can be used as a place to relax, providing a little extra luxury, or converted into an additional double bed for family use. They are located on the 2nd floor.

Deluxe Double / Twin

Two rooms offer the flexibility to be used as Double or Twin rooms. One, with stunning harbour views is on the ground floor. The other is located on the first floor to the side of the property and offers partial sea views, It is adjacent to the lounge and kitchen.
