Mintlaw

A historic village set in surroundings bursting with colour

Mintlaw

Mintlaw, in the north of Aberdeenshire, is home to Aden Country Park. Recognised as one of Scotland’s top green spaces, the park is a popular spot for walkers, cyclers and families thanks to its picturesque surroundings and busy events calendar.

In the grounds also sits the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum hosting a collection of national significance. Aberdeen Museums Service HQ and Discovery Centre is just down the road too!

Nearby Pitfour Lake is illuminated all year round by its striking scenery and wild nature. The Lake is a lovely spot for a relaxed picnic or simply a relaxing escape.

Not only is it bursting with colourful surroundings, the village is historic too. Close by in the village of Old Deer you will find the ruins of Deer Abbey – once a Cistercian monastery founded in 1219 AD.
