Sir Arthur Grant Centre
The Sir Arthur Grant Centre is owned and operated by Aberdeenshire Council and can accommodate up to 34 people in two dorms, two twin rooms and two en-suite fully accessible rooms.
Set in wonderful countryside close to Bennachie with all its walking routes, the river Don for fishing and wild swimming, and the historic conservation village of Monymusk, the centre has undergone a full re-furbishment and extension in 2023-24.
There is a large open plan self catering kitchen, dining room and lounge plus a large indoor activity room and extensive grounds including use of a woodland area. There is also a dying room, laundry and staff area as well as a raised fire bowl for outdoor cooking or campfires.
Guests using the centre may like to book some of the activities available there such as the climbing tower, body zorbs, team building games, nature activities and cycle skills.
The centre is very well located on the north east castle trail being close to Castle Fraser, Craigievar Castle and several others. It is also very close to the Pitfichie Mountain Bike trails - some of the best downhill courses in the country. Both Alford alpine and Huntly Nordic Ski centres are within a short drive.
Fine dining is available at the Grant Arms Hotel in the nearby village of Monymusk.
The Sir Arthur Grant Centre provides accommodation for up to 34 people. There are two dorms with bunkbeds for 14 in each, 2 twin rooms and 2 accessible en-suite single rooms (with a second fold down bed). Some camping or parking of motorhomes may also be possible by arrangement.
There is a large, fully equipped, open plan kitchen / dining / lounge area with direct access to the garden. There is a laundry and drying room. There is also small lounge and office area for customer use.
There is a large indoor activity room available as a separate hire.
The centre has a good broadband connection and wi-fi throughout.
There is secure cycle storage and facilities for bike maintenance if required.
