Alongside the Café & Restaurant at The Black Faced Sheep you will find an intriguing Homeware & Gift Shop packed full of beautiful items from Scottish gifts and homeware to wool throws, cushions, stunning bedspreads as well as distinctive table lamps and furniture.

Our Art Gallery sells limited edition prints and original artwork from a carefully curated range of Scottish artists as well as a beautiful selection of cards.

We host Evening Dining events on the last Friday of every month (except December) with delicious food, outstanding wines and a great atmosphere. (Please call to book.) We also hold a variety of events and workshops. Check our website or the What’s On section of this site for details.  

Generations of families (including the Royal Family!) have been coming to The Black Faced Sheep for decades. Established in 1990 in Aboyne at the heart of Royal Deeside, The Black Faced Sheep has huge sentimental value to the Aberdeenshire community and visitors from all over the world.

As the oldest cafe in Royal Deeside, the Black Faced Sheep has been serving locals, Royals, and visitors from around the UK and internationally for over 35 years.  It is known for its warm welcome, delicious food and unique Homeware & Gift Shop since 1990. The Black Faced Sheep is located in beautiful Aboyne, in the heart of Royal Deeside (look for our "Black Faced Sheep" sign to find us!).

The Café and Restaurant offers outstanding food made using the finest Scottish ingredients, and is freshly made to order. All of our cakes, focaccia and granary bread are lovingly baked every day in the Black Faced Sheep kitchen.

Join us for brunch, served all day, or choose from our varied lunch menu which includes delicious soups, famous homemade bruschettas, fresh seasonal salads and seafood platters. Coffee and cake is a speciality as is our choice of teas. We are fully licensed and have a wide selection of fabulous wines.
