The Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony

When exactly The Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony began is not yet known. The earliest recorded mention of the Ceremony dates back to 1908, however it s thought that the event was created years before then.

Now - at least 110 years later - the Fireball Ceremony has approximately 45 swingers and roughly 8,000 - 12,000 spectators.

Featuring street entertainment from 11pm (usually consisting) of a Pipe Band and Street Drummers.

As the old Town House bell chimes midnight, the Fireballs are lit and swingers emerge from the street leading to the harbour.

At the end of the Fireballs Ceremony, roughly 12.30am, fireworks are set off from the Stonehaven Harbour. A spectacle that can be seen from all around the town.
