Simplyhealth Great Aberdeen Run
The NEW Great Aberdeen Run is set to be a fantastic running event this year, taking in views across Aberdeen with races for all levels of running interest including a half marathon, 10K and family run.
For those looking to take on the challenge of the half marathon - it starts and finishes on Union Street, taking runners on a route across the city with views of local landmarks including the Aberdeen Town House, down Marischal Street towards the Beach Esplanade, from there enjoy surrounding scenery of the River Don and picturesque Brig o Balgownie and onto the historic area of Old Aberdeen. The route passes the iconic Marischal College building taking us back on Union Street for the big finish!
Also starting and finishing on Union Street, the 10k will take runners east, past the Town Hall and County House and towards the famous Castlegate, the route will pass Aberdeen Harbour and Pittodrie Football Stadium.
Bring the whole family to the event and take part in the family run! The mile long race is open to children aged 3-15 years old. Participants aged 3-8 get a place for an accompanying adult, whereas 9-15 have their own dedicated wave at the start to allow them to run as fast as they like!
Whether you're new to running, looking for a challenge, or are a club runner aiming for a record PB, there is a distance and wave to suit your ability. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today and be part of something great!
If running is not your thing you don't need to race to enjoy the event, come along and cheer on the runners! Don't miss that big finish across the line on Union Street!
