Richie Webb is best known for his comedy song-writing, especially his work on every song for the multiple BAFTA/Emmy/British Comedy Award-winning Horrible Histories . In this session, Richie pulls back the curtain to give us a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating a comedy verse masterpiece.

Over the past twenty years, Richie has accumulated hundreds upon hundreds of credits across radio, television and film, beginning with Goodness Gracious Me and Dead Ringers back in the 2000s, through to current CBBC and CBeebies shows, such as Andy and the Band , Mr Bloom , and the rebooted Teletubbies . His songs for Horrible Histories have twice been performed at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms. Richie is also an established radio comedy writer and performer. His Writers’ Guild award-winning show 15 Minute Musical was a mainstay of the Radio 4 schedule for fourteen years. His BBC Audio Award-nominated sitcom Mr Muzak ran for two series, and he wrote, produced and performed three series of the late-night comedy The Music Teacher , and two series of Dave Lamb’s audience sitcom, Hobby Bobbies .
