Weekend of Watercolour with Susie Hunt
Delve into an in-depth weekend of watercolours with celebrated painter Susie Hunt. In this two-day workshop, we will cover watercolour techniques, colour studies and the development of a personal project.
An integral part of this is to recycle - reclaim and reuse. Therefore, you may bring watercolour paints, brushes and a variety of papers, sketch books that you haven’t utilised, old diaries or books, past paintings that languish - either unfinished or displeasing - and a carefree attitude. We will consider a variety of Sketch Book formats to edit and present the work we do. Experimenting and exploring ideas in ways to help understand how to paint these into resolved pieces of work. Materials will be supplied and please bring a packed lunch for our mid-day breaks.
Susie Hunt is a North-East based painter and tutor that has shown in many solo and group exhibitions, and in selected shows including the RWS at Bankside Gallery, London and the SSA at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh. She mainly works with water-based media on paper and combines location sketches with memories of landscape as subject. She has founded the award winning North East Open Studios event in 2004 and has been an active council member of Aberdeen Artists Society for 15 years.
